What's your Gingerbread Man's Story?

Surprise!!!
When you arrived at school today, all of the books were missing pieces. Your class has been assigned to rewrite all of the Gingerbread stories.
Your teacher has a note which says the new stories must be different from the old stories. Your job will be to write the new story. How will you do that? It is up to you to decide.
There are guidelines you will need to follow, but the how is all up to you.

Each of you will explore all the different things your Gingerbread Person can do and what he will wear.
You and your leader, (the adult), will complete the multi-flow map as you complete your search. This will help you organize and sequence your own story.
You may print the pages you find that have the information for the story if you like.
Or, you may draw your own pictures. Your leader will help you write the text. (This can be word processed or in your own handwriting.)
Once you get all the information for your story and decide how it will unfold decide how you plan on telling it to the class.

1. What is the temperature? Is it hot, cold, cool, warm? 2. What kind of storms occur during the season you picked? 3. Did you discover any "weather events" that take place during this season?
Who is your Gingerbread Person?
1. Is your Gingerbread Person a man, woman, boy, or girl? 2. Who is your Gingerbread Person and what is his/her climate? 3. What kind of clothes does your Gingerbread Person wear in his climate?
What kind of animals did you find living your search?
1. What kind of animals did you find living in your search? 2. What climate does the animal like? 3. Describe the climate of choice for these animals. 4. Where does it live, (in water, trees, cave)? 5. How does the animal move, does it run, fly, swim? 6. What best describes the animals you discovered?
Story lines you need to decide:
1. Is your Gingerbread Person caught by any animal? If not why not? 2. If your Gingerbread Person is not caught what happens to him/her and what does he/she do in the end? 3. If your Gingerbread Person was caught was he eaten or did something else happen to him/her. If not, explain what happens. Remember to support your explanation with facts and details.

This is the time where you will present your story to the class. When you stand before the class remember to speak clearly and slowly.
If you have printed out any of the pages from the computer with pictures to share this is the time to put them in order and decide how you will show them to the group.

Now is the time for the reviews to come in and be asked about the things you learned.
You will first describe the Quest and tell them what you learned in your internet research.
Your classmates will ask questions about your story and about the place you picked.

You have learned so much in this quest. You now know about the four seasons, animals, and places around the country.
